Purchased these tabs instead of the ones that NFPA offers because they were just over 1/2 the price of the NFPA version. Now I know why. There are only about 1/2 the tabs and many of the really advantageous ones marking some of the most commonly used tables/sections aren’t included. Wish I would have spent the extra money for the others. I’m now making my own tabs to mark the pages I refer to most often.
Tabs are too few and too general in nature. In my last code book I had 73 tabs. I thought this time I would try fewer and larger but I’m not happy with them (48).

Needed as a textbook for a psychology class. It is very informative and well written. There are lots of technical details about drugs and interactions, but its not so technical that its impossible to understand. Great book overall.

This was the most comprehensive resource I found to help me understand what my children may be experiencing as a result of my divorce. It is full of both heart-wrenching and enlightening truths spoken by children of all ages. It’s not a book for those who are in denial. It’s for those parents who recognize that one of the major consequences of divorce is a life changing event for their children. If you want to know what you’re children are really experiencing and want to help, this book is for you! Be warned, it will make you cry, feel pain for your children, and possibly resurrent feelings of guilt. But it will also give you insight and direct you in how to continue parenting effectively with love and guidance, with or without the cooperation of your ex-spouse.
In the state of Vermont, it is required by the Family Court law that divorcing parents attend a 6-hour long workshop on "co-parenting" and the effects of negative parent behavior on children. What a joke! I wish instead that the state of Vermont mandated that every divorcing parent read this resource. I learned so much more from Gary Neuman and the children and families he has worked with.
This thorough book covers every topic imaginable that is associated with divorce and family transition. The focus is from the child’s perspective on matters such as validating your childrens feelings, protecting your children from conflict, separating adult issues from children’s issues, custody and visitation, uncooperative parents and parent-bashing, child support and financial stress, relocating, dating, and most importantly, how children "feel" about all the ups and downs associated with this life changing event.

This book is very well written and insightful. It seeks to help those who don’t have time or resources for traditional counseling or pyschotherapy but need help overcoming trauma. I found it to be intuitive, thoughtful and easy to understand. I highly recommend this book!

Sheela Raja’s Overcoming Trauma and PTSD provides a good overview and understanding of the PTSD diagnosis for the layperson. It is clearly not intended to replace traditional psychotherapy and treatment, but for those who are struggling and not ready or able to start treatment there are many useful building block skills and techniques that can be learned and practice. Her writing is easy to understand and accessible. Raja pulls from a variety of approaches that have empirical support for helping diverse problems including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and relational problems. Not all users will find that each problem/coping suggestion applies to them and this is best seen as a menu-based approach to healthy coping. As a provider I have also found it useful to use this workbook as an adjunct to treatment, working with clients to practice some the more applicable coping skills in session and then encouraging between practice between sessions. This is made much easier as the client has the workbook to refer back to instead of just their memory of what we talked about in session. Overall, I recommend this workbook and think it can be helpful for clients and clinicians alike in working to reclaim a fulfilling life after trauma.
